Chaliyar Music FESTIVAL

An extraordinary outdoor music festival created to celebrate our rivers and the kayaking challenge. We have three incredible bands lined up for this year's gig. Organizers have teamed up with musicians keen on promoting outdoor eco activities and conservational themes.

This fun, family friendly festival is for everyone who enjoys good music and is concerned for our mother nature, rivers, pollution and conservation activities.

True to their name, Avial (a mixed-vegetable delicacy) blends Malayalam Poetry with Contemporary Alternative Rock Music.

With elements of Indie Rock and Folk Music underlying an electronic feel, Avial’s music has overcome language barriers not only in India but is also drawing fans across the sub-continent and the globe. It has an increasing fan following, with a revolutionary approach in today’s contemporary music scene in India.

The band members come from an in-depth musical background, with a diverse exposure of working with different bands before they could come together. In search of something more intrinsic, with a sense of belonging, Avial discovered and articulated the expression in their own mother tongue, dared to express their music with their self-titled debut album.

Fetching a great name for them selves, Avial is one of the most sought after Indian bands today, transcending genres, justifying the term “Alternative Malayalam Rock”

When Chai Met Toast

A simple breakfast. A simple melody. When Chai Met Toast takes inspiration from the lighter side of life to create music that is heart-warming, happy and smile worthy. The newest band from the land of coconuts, they gained fans quickly with a special acoustic setup and a unique brand of infectious happy music, which transcends age, genre and even language.

Parvaaz is a contemporary Indian music band whose four members have assimilated several international progressive/psychedelic rock influences but their own expression has a rootedness that makes their sound unique. They sing mostly in Kashmiri and Urdu and their own line-up reflects the diversity they come from. Khalid Ahamed (vocals), Mir Kashif Iqbal (guitars), Sachin Banandur (drums) and Fidel Dsouza (bass) constitute the Bangalore- based rock group.

The band has so far released an EP titled “Behosh” in 2012 and the full length critically acclaimed album titled “Baran” in 2014. The band also released a live DVD titled “Transitions” in 2016 and are currently working on their second LP.
